Product Description

Product Description

Materials:
Implant quality grade of Titanium

Features:
  • Anatomically contoured to approximate the lateral aspect of the proximal femur.
  • Two proximal hooks engage the superior tip of the greater trochanter.
  • Use of locking screws provides an angular stable construct.
  • The locking holes in the plate shaft accept 5.0 mm locking screws in the threaded portion.
  • Accepts the articulated tension device to tension the plate and create a load-sharing construct.
  • Limited-contact Titanium plate.
  • Material of implant quality Titanium.
  • Low profile design reduces soft tissue irritation.
  • Surface anodized.
  • Self-drilling and self-tapping screws are available.

Indications

Intended Use:
The LCP Proximal Femoral Hook Plate is primarily designed for the fixation of fractures in the proximal femur, specifically around the femoral neck and the trochanteric region. This type of plate helps achieve proper anatomical alignment and stabilization of complex fractures while allowing for controlled compression at the fracture site. The system is commonly used in adult patients and in cases where traditional fixation methods are not sufficient to achieve stability.

Indications:
This plate is indicated for the fixation of a variety of femoral fractures, including but not limited to:
  • Proximal femoral fractures (including fractures around the greater and lesser trochanter).
  • Osteotomies in the proximal femur.
  • Comminuted or unstable intertrochanteric fractures.
  • Fractures of the femoral neck in patients where intramedullary fixation may not be possible or recommended.
  • Fractures of the femoral shaft near the trochanteric region, particularly in patients with poor bone quality, such as those with osteoporotic bone.

Contraindications

Contraindications:
Contraindications typically include but are not limited to:
  • Severe soft tissue compromise or infection in the region where the implant would be placed.
  • Fractures that may be more effectively treated by other methods, such as non-surgical management or intramedullary nails.
  • Patients with metal hypersensitivity or a known allergy to the materials used in the implant (such as titanium or stainless steel).
  • Patients with conditions that preclude successful attachment of the plate or stable fixation (e.g., severe osteoporosis where screws may not hold the plate in place).
